About Me
“Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.”
― Malcolm X
Hello! My name is Erica Grech. I was born and raised in Northville, MI. I attended Northville Public School's, and in 2002 graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Education, with minors in math and psychology (Go Green!).
After graduation, I moved to California to teach. Despite the great weather and beautiful scenery, I accomplished one of my dreams and received my Masters in Educational Administration and Urban Leadership.
I became a teacher for a very simple reason - I want to make a difference. Emerson wrote, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived- that is to have succeeded," this is why I teach - I want to make that difference in children's lives. I strive to do so by teaching with empathy, patience, compassion, and enthusiasm.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, or dogs- Leila and Sophia. I also enjoy exercising, sports, anything outdoors, reading and cooking.
My professional goals for the future are to obtain my PhD, work as a principal and write educational research based texts or children's novels.
