Welcome!
“I am not a teacher, but an awakener.”
― Robert Frost
I created this page in hopes of educating you about myself as a teacher, professional and a life long learner. In navigating my portfolio, I am confident you will come to understand who I am not only as a teacher, but as an individual. It is my hope that you recognize the strengths that make me a passionate and efficient teacher, as well as a useful addition to any school and their team. I hope you enjoy your visit!
I hold a California and Michigan clear multiple subjects (Elementary) certificate with a supplementary math endorsement, a CLAD credential, as well a Masters in administration/ Urban leadership and a tier one administrative credential. Through the diversity of my field experiences and studies, including 9 years of teaching in inner city schools, I have not only gained valuable teaching and classroom management skills, but also many personal skills such as flexibility, resourcefulness, and the ability to understand, accept, and teach a variety of cultures and learning abilities. I believe that these are all important characteristics to possess when teaching in schools today with increasingly diverse populations. I am a self-directed, enthusiastic educator, with a passionate commitment to student development and the learning experience. I am skilled in the design of rigorous, authentic, engaging activities that address the diverse interests and needs of the students in my class. I am also an active team member and leader who effectively collaborates with staff members and establishes quality relationships with students and parents in order to enrich my student's educational journey. As a graduate of Michigan State University’s Education program and CSU’s Masters in Administration/ Urban Leadership program, I am looking forward to using my superior education and these experiences to in turn enrich the children of your community’s education.
